How to Register and Update Magellan Roadmate Devices

There are two ways to register and update Magellan RoadMate devices:

A. Using SmartGPS Eco (www.smartgpseco.com)

Note: The plug-in only works using Windows 7/8/10 under Google Chrome or Mac OS under Safari version 11 or below.

1. Sign-in your Magellan Account to SmartGPS Eco.

2. Download and install the plug-in of the browser. Close the browser after installing the plug-in.

3. Sign-in again your Magellan Account to SmartGPSEco.

4. Connect your device to computer. The Plug-in will recognize your device and will automatically register under your account.

5. You will receive a download (map/software update) if your device is not yet up-to-date.

B. Using SmartGPS Tool

Note: This tool would only work on Windows 7/8/10

1. You can download the SmartGPS Tool installer from HERE.

2. Locate the installer named Setup_1.0.8.1.exe on your download folder.

3. Click the SmartGPS Tool icon, click Next command box (N) until install. Once installed, it will prompt you to close all browsers.

4. Click “Login SmartGPS” and enter your Magellan Account.

5. Turned on your device. Connect your device to your computer and it will register automatically. You’ll now see the information of your device.

6. The tool will prompt you to update the MAP once the map is not up-to-date.
